Fast Orange Tubes:
So easy to use. A two pack sampler that allows you to see first hand how easy this system is to use. Fill the sample tube with an amount of beer equal to the Fast Orange solution(1:1) and wait up to one week. Unlike the bulk Boullion you do not have to pour into a separate jar. This size is often used by larger craft breweries to test out the benefits and ease of use of Fast Orange. If they like it and want to do larger sample sizes in their lab they move to the Boullion. For smaller craft breweries without a lab these tubes (in the 48 pack size) can become your QC program. Even taking one sample at the end of fermentation, at the cost of a couple dollars per test, allows you peace of mind and may help ensure you don't release contaminated beer. Originally this two pack was designed for homebrewers but we now offer to commercial brewers so that you can sample the product.
More on Fast Orange B
Pika FastOrange B is a nutrient medium developed specifically for the craft brewing market, it is used for the detection of beer spoiling microorganisms throughout the entire production process. The FastOrange B will change colors based on the presence of bacteria, such as lactobacilli and pediococci, allowing for easy visual assessment of contamination.
This enrichment media serves many purposes, first and foremost, as an identifier of spoilage organisms, and isolation of infection point. If there is a contamination in your beer, use the FastOrange B to determine where that bacteria is being picked up. Once an infection is isolated, the bacteria can be sent to a lab for PCR analysis, where you can find out exactly what bacteria is causing your beer problems. In this same way, positive bacterias can be isolated as well, and propagated for further brewing/souring!
