Custom designed for the 7 & 14 gal. BrewBuilt X-Series Uni Conical, the CoolStix is a revolutionary cooling solution for stainless conical fermenters with T.C. fittings. Similar to the MiniMax CoolStix but with a wider rod for increased cooling capacity. It is easy to clean, easy to set up, and cools quickly and efficiently. The CoolStix uses a submersible pump to circulate cooling solution and a digital temperature controller to regulate flow. When the controller's temperature probe detects that the fermentation temp is getting too hot, it will power on the submersible pump to run ice water or glycol through the CoolStix. Once the temperature stabilizes, the controller will shut off the pump and stop circulation.
A cold water source is needed to provide the cooling solution. For maintaining ale temperatures, a cooler or bucket of ice water is sufficient in most cases. For maintaining lager temperatures, we recommend one of the IceMaster Glycol Chillers.
NOTE: In order to install the CoolStix on the base X-Series Conical, you will also need the BrewBuilt Pressure Pack. This special tri-clamp lid will provide the 1.5" tri-clamp port where you will install the CoolStix and properly position the cooling rod inside the conical. DO NOT use with a 4" x 1.5" T.C. reducer or install the CoolStix in one of the other 1.5" T.C. lid ports.
