Briess 2Row Brewers Malt is a world class brewing malt cherished by many micros.
Briess is a privately held (still by the Briess family) American malting company that has invested a lot of money into infrastructure over the last 10 years. They bought a grain processing facility in Wyoming which gave them direct contracts with barley growers. This is a premium growing area because the malt is flood irrigated so that it does not have to rely on rainfall. This has the benefits of quality and consistency for you the brewer. Malt that is flood irrigated is also lighter and in color since the barley heads see very little rain. The flood irrigation is also consistent and reliable so Briess sees less variability in their malt from year to year.
